SPONSORSHIP FOR AO TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDIC COURSES

AO Alliance Foundation is a developmental nonprofit organization responding to the need to improve the care of acute musculoskeletal trauma and neglected cases in the low-income countries (LIC’s) of the world. This is done through the education commitment to improve fracture care in low income countries through education and professional development of healthcare personnel, research and clinical service support.

AO Alliance Foundation in collaboration with Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons would like to offer Scholarships for 8 residents to pursue AO Trauma and Orthopedics Courses.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Write an application letter showing your interest in Trauma and Orthopedics
  • Send your application and required documents to one of the following:

CRITERIA

  • Participated in AO courses or seminars
  • Applicant should be from the following Teaching Hospitals namely:
    • Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra
    • Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi
    • Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Cape Coast
    • Tamale Teaching Hospital, Tamale
  • Applicant must be a Member or Fellow

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • An application letter
  • A copy of Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A copy of Medical School Certificate
  • One letter of recommendation from an active AO/ AOAF member
  • One letter of recommendation from the Head of Institution
  • Health Certificate
  • Working Knowledge of Local language of host centre or English

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Applicants will go through an interview and the best will be selected
  • Successful applicants will go back to serve their centres after the training
  • Successful applicants will pay for Fiesta and AGMs
  • Applicants should include a copy of an AO Course cert to their letter.
  • There are Advanced courses and Masters courses
  • To pursue the advanced course, applicant must have participated in an AOAF Basic Principles of Fracture Management course
  • To pursue the Masters course, applicant must have participated in an AOAF Advanced Principles of Fracture Management course
